In order to provide unforgettable experience, we conduct the tours with our partners from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro. While on tours you will visit all famous landmarks in Sofia, Skopje, Tirane, Budva, Mostar and Sarajevo has to offer.

 

This journey is perfect for those who want to experience Balkan countries in tailor made private arrangements instead of traveling in large groups. In each visiting place you will be hosted by local guides to gain a much more thorough knowledge of rich history, wonderful nature and unique lifestyle. The entire trip is easy going with no more of 4 hours driving from one town to another, with as many stops as you like, all so you can feel comfortable and enjoy each part of the journey. So you can escape the crowded famous chain hotels, we planned overnights in boutique 4* hotels in each visiting city.

Day 1 - Sofia
Arrival to Sofia International Airport. Local guide will meet you at the airport and make a short introduction of Sofia while transferring you to your hotel for a check in. After a short rest your guide will take you on a Sofia city tour. Sofia offers beautiful buildings, Roman remains, old churches, extremely interesting archaeological complexes and of course thousands of bars and restaurants where you can taste traditional Bulgarian dishes. On the tour you will see the real mixture of tradition and modern culture. You will visit Sofia’s most famous points of interest – The St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral, The Russian Church, The Church of St. Sophia, The Round Church “St. George”, The National Theater, The mineral baths, The Synagogue, The National Art Gallery, The Archaeological Museum and  Parliament square, The Presidency, the Ruins of Serdica and many more exciting views that will make you fall in love with this magnificent city. After the tour you will have some free time to explore before return back to the hotel. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in 4* hotel "Rosslyn Thracia"

Day 2 - Sofia - Skopje
Breakfast at the hotel. After the breakfast and check out, your guide will meet you at the lobby to take you to the communist tour of Sofia. The Sofia communist tour will take you back to the communist period of Bulgaria when the country was behind the so called “iron curtain”. You will hear real stories of people and will learn much about the way of living of the Bulgarians at that time. You will get acquainted with the historical events and facts that led Bulgaria and the countries from Eastern Europe to fall under the communist regime. You will hear stories never heard before and you will dive into completely another world – the world of the communism. After this 3 hour tour, you will be transferred to Skopje, Macedonia. Make yourself comfortable on a 3,5 hours trip to your hotel in Skopje, Macedonia. Check in. Overnight at hotel “Alexander Square Boutique” 4* in Skopje.

Day 3 - Skopje - Tirana
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out. Guide will meet you and take you to the Skopje city tour. You will walk through the main square of the city, while listening to the story of the town with its well-known fountains, statues and monuments, passing by the Memorial House of Mother Theresa and the old railway station among the fresh products in the green market. You will hear the story about the famous park Women Fighters, the Parliament building and the Old City mall, while preparing yourself to discover the oriental part of the city - The Old Bazaar. Once there, you can feel the mix of Byzantine and Ottoman architecture while witnessing the best preserved part of Skopje with its hundreds of little craftsman shops and tearooms. After the 3 hour Skopje tour, your guide will transfer you to Tirane, Albania. After 4 hours drive with short stops along the way, you will reach your hotel in Tirane. Check in. Overnight at hotel "Mondial" 4* in Tirane.

Day 4 - Tirane - Budva
After the breakfast and check out your guide will take you to the tour of Tirane. As you cross the street with your guide you’ll find yourself in the middle of Scanderbeg Square. The square was named after an important Albanian figure of the 15th century, who successfully resisted Ottoman invasion for 25 years. As you look around the square you’ll see an interesting complex of building which reflect the periods that have influenced Tirana’s architecture. The communist government left its own footprint by destroying the Ottoman Bazaar and building the new Opera and Ballet House on the site. The next stop on the itinerary is Et'hem Bey Mosque, where you’ll learn about the difficulties faced by the clergy, especially after 1967 when freedom of religious expression was prohibited. The mosque was built in 1793 by Et'hem Bey in typical Turkish style. Continue on your walk to King Zog’s Palace, National Martyrs Boulevard, and the former residential quarter for Communist party leaders. At the end of the walking tour you’ll visit the National History Museum to learn about the history of Albanians. After the tour make yourself comfortable in our vehicle and proceed to a 4 hour trip to Budva, Montenegro. Check in. Overnight in 4* hotel "Adria" in Budva.

Day 5 - Budva - Mostar
Have a rich breakfast at the hotel and check out. Our guide will take you to a Budva city tour. Budva is a Montenegro town on the Adriatic Sea and it is the center of Budva Municipality. The coastal area around Budva, called the Budva riviera, is the center of Montenegro tourism, known for its well preserved medieval walled city, sandy beaches and diverse nightlife.  A main attraction of Budva is considered to be its old town which was destroyed by a devastating earthquake in 1979. Entire historic center of Budva has been completely restored to its original form. Budva Old Town has many boutiques, expensive restaurants, cafes and bars which perfectly fits with the historic venues of the city. After 1 hour of Budva tour our guide will give you some time to explore on your own or do some shopping before departing to Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina. Mostar is some 4 hours away from Budva, so make yourself comfortable in our modern vehicle and enjoy the views of seaside along the way to Mostar. After arrival to Mostar, check in your hotel. Overnight at 4* hotel "Eden" in Mostar.

Day 6 - Mostar - Sarajevo
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out. Meet our guide at hotel and proceed to Mostar city tour. You will visit Mostar Old Town and its world famous UNESCO Heritage site, worldwide known Mostar Old Bridge where you will hear all the legends and stories about this amazing example of Ottoman architecture from 16th century. Have some time for shopping before departing to Sarajevo. You will also visit a small Herzegovina town Blagaj. Blagaj is known as a pearl of Herzegovina and one of the most visited touristic sites in Bosnia & Herzegovina. With its beautiful source of river Buna, Blagaj represents an unique touristic place. Here we can try the best fish in the whole country and visit an old Blagaj Dervish House. Proceed to Sarajevo and stop along the way to Konjic, a small town dating from Ottoman empire. Here you will have a short tour along the Konjic Old Bridge and a coffee break overlooking the Neretva river. Arrival to Sarajevo, check in and overnight at 4* hotel "Aziza".

Day 7 - Sarajevo
After the rich breakfast at the hotel our guide will meet you at the lobby for the start of the tours. First is a 2 hours Sarajevo Walking Tour. On the tour you will find out all about the city's turbulent past from its early days of Ottoman empire, its Austro-Hungarian occupation, Yugoslav period all the way to modern times and its unfortunate war events of 90's. After the tour, take some time to explore the city core and do some shopping. Next stop of the tour is Sarajevo Tunnel Museum - Tunnel of Hope. Here you will feel how it was like to pass through the only exit and entrance to the city during the Sarajevo siege. You will watch a short documentary and hear stories from people who survived it all. To relax you from the difficult subject of the war in Bosnia final stop of the day will be Vrelo Bosne nature park - source of river Bosna. Vrelo Bosne is a peaceful setting ideal for relaxation of your body and soul. Here you can take a picnic or  walk along the crystal clear water. After time in nature, we recommend an optional 10 minute horse carriage ride through wonderful Ilidza valley. Our guide will meet you at the end of the ride to take you back to your hotel. A perfect end of the Sarajevo tour. Overnight at 4* hotel "Aziza" in Sarajevo.

Day 8 - Sarajevo
Breakfast at the hotel. Our guide will pick you up after check out and take you to Sarajevo International Airport. Be sure to take good memories and warm recommendations of your Balkan tour with Invicta Travel.
